Continued brainstorming and discussion have produced a triad of desired actions for Ceasefire: “Educate, Communicate, and Finance.” One potential pathway for achieving the triad is arming existing organizations with knowledge of Ceasefire to include in their own marketing messages. (Once again – the theme of communication/information design is dominating the brainstorm).
Ceasefire’s continued community involvement has demonstrated that violence is a result of numerous stress factors including inadequate access to food, shelter, support, and education. Tackling and treating such a diverse group of symptoms is difficult for a small organization like Ceasefire, making partnerships essential to successfully treating violence. This contributes to the educate and communicate components of the triad without adding increased strain on the Ceasefire staff.
In order for this to work, a communication infrastructure must be developed with both clarity and simplicity. Partnering organizations need to be easily “powered by Ceasefire” or incorporate relevant information into their own organization’s mission. The cumulative effect of the “Educate, Communicate, and Finance” partnerships will hopefully create an infection able to cure violence.
