Rachel Belanger
Day job: Student, University of Chicago
Description: Rachel Belanger is a co-founder of the Mobile Food Collective, a campaign started at Archeworks that inspires communities to grow more of their own food, exchange resources and share meals. The MFC has designed and built a fleet of mobile structures that performs programming such as community meals, cooking and gardening demonstrations, seed and recipe exchange, and worm composting. Rachel is looking forward to a packed workshop calendar this Spring, as the MFC travels between community events across Chicago.
Rachel is also a student at the University of Chicago, where she’ll earn a B.A. in Environmental Studies this Spring. She’s interested in a design profession with a focus on urban sustainability. She describes what she does to others by saying, “I do lots of things!”
