Jim Hall (Allstate Financial) will be at UXXU 2011

Jim Hall

Day job: User Experience Architect, Allstate Financial

Description: Jim was born and raised in New York, 30 miles outside of New York City.  In 1994, he met his future wife in California—she was living and working in Chicago.  Since Jim was working as an hourly sales person for an outdoor equipment company in NYC at the time, he packed up and moved to Chicago and never looked back. He is still an avid Yankees and Giants fan.

In 1999, while supporting an electronic sales tool for First Chicago bank, he realized the need for creating more intuitive processes and systems for users.  Jim started to move his career and job functions towards experience design, and while working for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago in 2001, he created a user experience team.   In 2004, Jim had a great opportunity to work for Motorola, designing mobile-phone interfaces for a short while. Then, in 2006, he moved to Allstate Insurance Company, where he has worked as part of a user experience team as a User Experience Architect, leading large and mid-sized projects. Jim currently works as the lead User Experience Architect for Allstate Financial Insurance, where he works to set the strategic project objectives for Allstate Financial and to build the user experience team. Asked to describe his job, he says: “I design the best possible user experiences for people that need to get the job done.”
